While visiting Cynthiana, Terri and I wanted to visit and photograph all of the murals in town. We had heard that there were 21 murals. That really seemed like a lot of work! We knew most of them but not 21 of them. We found out that 13 of them were Fairy Doors painted by Wylie Caudill. His work is amazing. We’ll talk about the large murals later in another article.
I’m showing you the 13 doors in the gallery but I am not telling exactly where they are located. The hints are in the photos. Once you have visited the town long enough and wander around the streets, you’ll recognize the areas in the photos.
They were completed in 2017 by Wylie. Since then they have been a summer thing for families to wander town looking for them. The “official” hint is to look high and low. One is very difficult to find. So hard in fact, that you’ll feel like you just won a championship! I know we were happy.
Several of these were hidden in plain view. I even just about tripped over one of them while looking high.
